Paula Duray

I have been teaching for 15 years-2 years at Banning Lewis Academy, 10 years in District 11, and 3 years at PTEC.  I have taught several different science classes as well as math.  Five of my 15 years were in middle school and 10 years in high school.  I will be teaching chemistry and metallurgy at PTEC.  Thanks to my husband of 34 years, Chuck Duray, I made the move to PTEC three years ago.  I have a background in applied science with a BS in Biology focused in cytotechnology and a MS in Health Administration as well as a teaching license.  Prior to teaching, I worked for 13 years diagnosing cancer at the cellular level.  In that time, I was published in a science journal and have presented at a national convention. Thanks to my 3 children, now all adults, I made the switch to teaching. I am not a native of Colorado, but I am a native of Southern New Jersey. Go Eagles! I live on a ranch in Calhan and raise cattle for beef, ride horses, and enjoy my time out of the city. As I get closer to retirement age, (two more years) I have decided to go part time for a few more years than become a full-time rancher with my husband.  I look forward to another amazing year with the PTEC students.
