25-26 JICHS Robotics team
The James Irwin Charter High School (JICHS) Robotics Team, known as the Javajags, has earned a coveted spot at the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship to be held April 21-24, 2026 in St. Louis, Missouri. This international tournament brings together over 800 of the top student robotics teams from around the world to compete, collaborate, and celebrate innovation in STEM.
The Javajags, comprised of JICHS seniors John Marshall, Dillon Wheeler, David Moeller, and Jackson Turner, secured their qualification through an outstanding competitive season, capturing first place in the V5 Robotics Pikes Peak League and winning the Yeti Campus Robotics – Everest League championship. Their success was further highlighted by an impressive list of tournament honors, including two Tournament Champion Awards, two Skills Champion Awards, a Sportsmanship Award, and a Judges Award, recognizing both technical excellence and exemplary team conduct.
Hosted annually, the VEX Worlds tournament features hundreds of teams competing in high-energy robotics challenges while showcasing engineering design, programming skill, and teamwork. Competing on a world stage in St. Louis is a significant achievement and marks a major milestone for the Javajags program.
The Javajags are actively preparing to represent JICHS, the Pikes Peak region, and Colorado at the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship. “We’re incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, perseverance, and professionalism throughout the season,” said Mr. Finn, their Robotics coach. “Earning the opportunity to compete at Worlds is a testament to their dedication and passion for robotics.”
