Advanced Placement (AP) classes give students the chance to tackle college-level work while they're still in high school and earn college credit and placement.
A big "well done" to our students for crushing the national averages, and a huge shout out to Mr. Warchol, Mrs. Brueggemann, Mrs. Zarco, and Mrs. Riley for their excellent teaching.
AMAZING OVERALL STATISTICS:
100 % of our AP Language and Composition students passed the exam. This is a first for our AP Language and Composition program.
96% of our AP Literature and Composition students passed the exam, with six of the twenty-six students earning a 5, the highest score on an AP exam!
The AP Language and Literature tests both have a national pass rate of 74%, which our student blew out of the water.
86% of our students passed the AP Chem test, which only has a national pass rate of 78%. Three students of the twenty-one students earned the highest score of 5!
Our Physics 1 students beat the national pass rate of 66%. 75% of our students passed the historically difficult exam.
Our Physics 2 students crushed the national pass rate of 72%. 100% of our Physics 2 students passed the exam, with 1 of our students earning the top score of 5.
16 JICHS STUDENTS RECEIVE RECOGNITION FROM THE AP PROGRAM
The AP Program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on multiple AP Exams. The scores are ranked 1-5 with 3 considered passing and 5 being the highest score.
· 12 JICHS students received a 3 or higher on THREE OR MORE AP exams. (AP Scholars)
· 2 JICHS students received an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken AND scored 3 or higher on FOUR OR MORE of these exams. (AP Scholar with Honor)
· 7 JICHS students received an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams taken AND scored 3 or higher on FIVE OR MORE of these exams. (AP Scholar with Distinction)
