Computer Science /AP Computer Science/Digital Design/Algebra II Teacher
Mr. Mike Tomlinson joined the James Irwin faculty mid-year in the spring of 2017 as an assistant teacher with the middle school 6th grade team. After completing the next full school year with the middle school, Mr. Tomlinson transferred to the high school in 2018 as the sole computers teacher. With a diverse background in both hardware maintenance and software development, Mr. Tomlinson teaches Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop and Flash Animation, Microsoft C# in Visual Studio, and Java in AP Computer Science. As a member of the math department, Mr. Tomlinson occasionally teaches Algebra I classes as well. In his spare time, Mr. Tomlinson enjoys helping others solve programming problems on Stackoverflow.com. It is rumored that Mr. Tomlinson is actually a robot that dreams in code.
