Ami Brinlee

Intern Assistant Principal

Ami Brinlee has known that she wanted to be in education since the time she was in the first grade and, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in Elementary Education at UCCS, began her journey as a James Irwin teacher in 2013. She started as a fourth-grade instructional assistant at James Irwin Charter Elementary School and then became a third-grade classroom teacher the following year. After five years as a classroom teacher, she became the lead teacher for third grade and remained in that position for the next five years. During those five years, her passion for helping teachers feel successful in the classroom continued to grow and upon entering her eleventh year at James Irwin, she moved into the assistant principal intern position at the Howard Campus in July of 2023.
