Melissa Prewitt

Melissa Prewitt became part of the JICMS staff family in August 2022. She attended Fort Lewis College for Elementary Education, and just recently passed the Colorado PRAXIS test to become certified to teach math in the middle school. Prior to teaching she ran a successful licensed family childcare home in Colorado Springs where she taught preschool for the Colorado Head Start Program. She chooses to teach at JICMS because she loves the culture and the character development that the students are taught.

Ms. Prewitt has two children. A son, who is a Senior at PTEC and a daughter who is a Junior at JICHS. Together, they all enjoy spending time together, laughing with friends, watching movies from home, and listening to music.
