			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Monday, December 12 will be the start of finals for Middle and High School students and will be a full day of school, beginning with 7th period first. Dec. 13-15 will be half days and end at 11:00. Students who need to make up a final can do so on Dec. 15, at 11:30 &#8211; make sure to let the appropriate teacher know. Grades will be ready to view on Dec. 19, and report cards will be mailed Jan. 3. Students will need to turn in books the day of final(s) for high school classes that will not continue next semester.</p>

Our Priority is to keep your children healthy and in school. One way that we can all work together to do this is to prevent the spread of illnesses. If your child is not feeling their best, please use the following guidelines to determine whether or not they should be in school.<br />

<td>When To Keep Your Student At Home</td>
<td>When Your Student Should Return To School</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Fever</td>
<td>A temperature of 101 or greater. (American Pediatrics Association)</td>
<td>When your student is fever free for 24 hours without medication (Tylenol, Ibuprofen or Aspirin)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Cough</td>
<td>Frequent or uncontrollable, producing mucous or fever</td>
<td>Infrequent, no mucous is being coughed up and/or student has been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours or no fever for 24 hours without medication.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Diarrhea or Vomiting</td>
<td>More than one occurrence in a 24 hour period. If the student has had a recent head injury or if student has additional symptoms such as a fever.</td>
<td>Allow 24 hours to pass since last incident before returning to school.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Strep Throat or Scarlet Fever</td>
<td>Sore throat that is suspicious for Strep (i.e. the student has frequent bouts of Strep or a friend/sibling has recently had Strep) or fever (some children do not always have a fever with Strep). The only way to confirm that someone has Strep is with a throat culture.</td>
<td>After 24 hours of antibiotics.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Runny Nose</td>
<td>Cloudy or yellow/green discharge with congestion or a fever.</td>
<td>Clear drainage as with allergies and no fever.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Rash</td>
<td>If cause if unknown.</td>
<td>Rash free or with written permission from medical care provider.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>&#8220;Pink Eye&#8221; Conjunctivitis</td>
<td>Eye is red, swollen, itching, crusty or white/yellow drainage is occurring.</td>
<td>After 24 hours of antibiotics.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Chicken Pox</td>
<td>Itching pink/red spots with blister type center, fever.</td>
<td>Lesions crusted over and dry, no fever for 24 hours.</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Head Lice</td>
<td>Nits or Lice present on initial inspection. Refer to Lice guidelines from a medical care provider.</td>
<td>Student may return to school 24 hours after being treated with an acceptable over the counter or prescription LICE.</td>

<p>August 2 – All <strong>Returning</strong> Student, last names beginning A-L 8:00 a.m., last names beginning M-Z 10:15 a.m.</p>
<p>August 3 – All <strong>New</strong> Students &amp; <strong>all Freshmen, </strong>Last names beginning A-L 8:00 a.m., Last names beginning M-Z 10:15 a.m.</p>
<p>The following items will be covered: Schedules, Registration Paperwork, Health Forms, Lockers, Library, Computer Use, Frontier Ranch, Athletics and Diploma of Distinction.<br />
Anyone unable to attend on mandatory show day must come between July 11 and July 28 to complete the registration process. All students will be responsible for the summer reading assignment.</p>

<p>Students, just as in previous years, your username is your student number. New this year is a new password format, which is &#8220;&lt;first name initial&gt;&lt;last name initial&gt;&lt;birthdate MMDDYY&gt;&#8221; &#8211; therefore, your password should be 2 letters and 6 numbers.</p>
